U\u00e7urtma \u015feklindeki arac\u0131n bir de kuyru\u011fu vard\u0131. Kanat y\u00fcz\u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcm\u00fc 46.5metrekare, a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131\u011f\u0131 ise yakla\u015f\u0131k 150 kiloydu. Bu plan\u00f6rle ilk deneme, ertesi y\u0131l yap\u0131ld\u0131. Sir George Cacley’in arabac\u0131s\u0131 Brompton Hall’daki k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck vadi \u00fczerinde bir s\u00fcre u\u00e7arak, tarihin ilk u\u00e7u\u015funu ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirdi. O y\u0131l 10 ya\u015f\u0131nda olan Cacley’in k\u0131z torunu George Thompson, aradan 70 y\u0131l ge\u00e7tikten sonra bu denemeyi \u015fu s\u00f6zlerle anlatt\u0131: “Herkes, sa\u011fdaki tepelerdeydi. Kalk\u0131\u015f\u0131 \u00e7ok yak\u0131ndan g\u00f6rd\u00fcm, Arabac\u0131 plan\u00f6re bindi ve bat\u0131ya do\u011fru u\u00e7tu. Hodgson’a yazd\u0131\u011f\u0131 bir mektupta Bayan Thompson, u\u00e7u\u015f mesafesinin yakla\u015f\u0131k 250 metre oldu\u011funu belirtiyor, sonra da plan\u00f6r\u00fcn yere \u00e7ak\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 yaz\u0131yor.
